JANUARY, 2024
People now living at the lodge are enjoying using the cottage as a guest house for family and friends. As a result, we will no longer be offering the cottage as a rental property and are officially out of the hospitality business.
Thanks to past guests for lots of wonderful memories. We enjoyed the business while we were in it and are now looking forward to a bit more free time ourselves.
Take care,
Anna and Greg. :)

Dec. 5, 2022 HOT OFF THE PRESS!
On June 1, 2023, Oakview Lodge and Marina
will undergo a transformation to become Oakview Coliving,
home to about a dozen people
who will share the historic lodge as a residence.
Oakview Coliving promotes personal and environmental health, affordability and sustainability, while offering a chance to live in community.
Anna Schmiegelow and Greg Hebert, who have owned the property on Little Hawk Lake since 2015, are among the seven persons currently committed to the venture.
“Some of my favourite memories in life are based on shared experiences,” says Anna. “Coliving provides me with the opportunity to connect with people on an ongoing basis, to nurture relationships, to share resources, responsibilities, adventures and laughs.”
The couple will continue to operate the marina, with a little help from their new friends in the coliving venture.
“I’ve been involved with attempts to start coliving ventures before, but the cost of new construction is often prohibitive.” said Mardi Tindal, another member of the group. “Oakview is an ideal setup with its mix of private suites and common areas. It’s ready for us to move right in.”
The coliving community has three additional private suites available, each with ensuite bath.
“Condo life is easy, but I like working outside,” said Ted Addie, another member. “I’m looking forward to getting my hands dirty at Oakview.”
